Dr. Alexander is a scholar of African American religion and religious experience. His interdisciplinary research and teaching is influenced by phenomenology, critical theories on race and gender, and post-colonial/post-structuralism studies. His publications include: the Encyclopedia of Religion in America, “Beginning a Career in Academia: A Guide for Graduate Students of Color,” and “Faith in America.” Prior to joining WSSU, he was faculty member at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
